What the cryptic "new recipe" line is implicitly saying, is that they've changed the ingredients to make you less likely to poo your pants after drinking it.
A spokesman had previously said: "Bulmers Pear contains a significant level of high quality pear juice, and like prunes, plums and grapes, pears contain naturally occurring substances which, depending on the quantity consumed and the sensitivity of the individual involved, may not agree with every individual" - in other words "yes, our product is causing people to poo their pants".
I can only assume that "new recipe" is a euphemism for "Now With Added Immodium" or similar.
Presumably, like everyone else not labouring through life with the palate of a four year old, they used to think it was shit.
