Yesterday, a report was issued detailing the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of the Dunne family in Wexford in 2007.
The report found that the father took his own life after killing his wife and two children. It concluded that the 3 main catalysts to this disturbing event were:
- Mounting debt
- The submissive nature of Mrs Dunne
- An idealised view of Heaven
The report deals with ways in which any future tragedy could be avoided. Changes to social services, medical procedures and so forth.
It makes no comment on the fact that one of the above points continues to be taught in schools.
